Custom Window Coverings made for 5' x 8' window..How much is this gonna cost me?

Question:I really need a good idea on the price. I would be using tapestry textured fabric... I don't want to even embark on a project like this without knowing what its going to cost me in the whole from start to finish. I do understand there are variables here that I am not aware of so would be interested to hear the variables with cost list too? Is there an hourly wage and do they come out and install them or just make them? Thanks

Answers:
the companies usually make and install them, i's say at least $400 for the creation (and thats being low) and then normal rates for install

this can be costly...depending on the material you use..have ya thought about making your own window covering?/their taking sheets now..the flat one and making beautiful curtains from them..and instead of sewing they have glues for using just for materials and their wash proof..this would cut your costs alot..also having them special made and the material can run into quite abit of money...
I just got my living room window custom decorated and in the long-run it didn't cost too much, but that was because I provided the fabric and my husband made our window cornice board, which helped out a lot in the savings department. However, we paid for the labor, which was double compared to the fabric in the making. Being that was really the only big expense, it was feasible for us to go that route. With any custom window, it will cost. You have the labor, fabric, and time spent in deciding, and then the waiting period, which all are understandable, and sometimes the gas expense (depends on the company), but that's usually tacked on. Yes, they will come out to install, which is the great part. Usually there's never an hourly wage, only their labor charges and the costs in the fabric and any extra's; and again, remember it's usually double.

However, when I get ready to do my next room coming up, I'm going to go with American Blind and Wallpaper Factory. Many years ago I used them and they're great. You order online providing them with your exact measurements and you can pick and choose from their huge online selection of fabrics, wallpapers, area rugs, fixtures, etc. and all window treatments. Plus you save 50-75% off on brand name products. (Waverly, Laura Ashley, etc.) Check them out online and request their catalog. You will not be disappointed! Decorating is fun, enjoy!
