What is the average cost of granite countertops?
Question:I don't even know how it is measured, whether in linear feet, square feet or some other quantity. Want to upgrade my kitchen from laminate to granite.

I just did a couple of bids for granite counter-tops. One client had three surfaces (the regular counter-top, an island, and a built-in desk). This one was estimated to cost $6,000 (not including installation). It was measured by square foot and was a common grade, black granite. That's the other thing...there are different prices based on the material, it's source, and how rare or common it is. Granite is the smartest choice in counter-tops and well worth the investment. Expect a great return on it when you go to sell your home!
