Is pressure treated wood (new) safe for pets?

Question:Building a new deck and I have a little dog, should I be concerned about chemicals in new pressure treated lumber?

Answers:
It should be fine. Our dogs walk on our deck that is 3 years old and have never had a problem. If you are still really concerned then use a waterproofer/sealer on the deck floor or any parts of the deck the dogs may touch. Polyurethane based sealers are waht are used on indooor hardwood flooring usually and don't seem to affect pets there.

Don't let the dogs chew/eat the pressure treayed wood. Also, I have heard that you shouldn't burn the pressure treated wood because the ashes are hazardous.

there are no dangers for your dog.
first ,, how new ? the new woods coming out now is great for any one or any pet .older woods were not as safe as it is now they had cersot in it a long with other things
