Housewarming gifts?
Question:A friend of mine just bought her first house - she's 21 - and she's going to be having a housewarming party. I want to get her a gift, but I'm not sure what to get. I haven't been friends with her for very long, but I know she really loves frogs. So does anyone have any ideas? Specific items or websites that cater toward housewarming gifts? Thanks.

A new home owner would appreciate a general book on home repairs. There are some pretty good ones. Put a hammer on it for a bow. :) Give her a card with a frog on it.
How about some wine glasses? I would proably stay away from the frogs because she might not be decorating her house with them.

well you could get her some of those frog things i always see at wal mart, you know they have like soap holders, toothbrush holders, towel holders, napkin holders, make a collection of frog holders! that would be neat i think, but then again im the guy who told you to go frog catching at the watering hole haha
picture frames. no one ever thinks of picture frames. you may even find a frame with a frog on it.

Depending on budget a combo gift can be nice. Perhaps a set of drinking glasses with frog themed stirrers, or a set of pots and pans with frog potholders. If this is her first place she will need basics, towels, kitchen stuff, etc. But if she already has the basics try something more fun. A nice print that you have framed, candles are always great, or a basket filled with nice pampering items, lotion, nice soap, hand towels bubble bath, a relaxing CD. Good luck, have a nice time at the party.
Maybe you could just make up a basket of household items anyone on the planet needs. Dish & laundry detergents, cloths, utensils, battery lights for closets, trash bags, cleaning products like scratchers, hand towels, brushes, etc.
You can make it a theme basket or just starter items she can see if she really likes them or not. Always include a bottle of bubble bath or salts for relaxing, a candle for quiet times, and maybe a fun frog from the flower shop to place in her garden. Pet stores carry a big supply of options to pick from too. Those items say you are really trying to make her feel like she is at home, and what better way to say welcome, than to save her money right off the bat.
How about a cute garden "frog". Or a frog boot brush for the doorway.
when my sister bought her first house i bought them a wooden plaque with pine trees on it and their last name.They loved it as the house they bought had a big pine tree in the back yard.They burn the name on the plaque,the last name of the family.They loved it and still have it 15 years later.

I'm sure your friend will get fed up with receiving frog stuff! It's a new house so she will probably need alot of useful stuff! I think the best idea would be a gift certificate to Home Depot or Bed Bath and Beyond!

indoor plant.plants always warm up the home. something like orchids. also, a gift card for bed bath and beyond or another store might be great.
