Do renters prefer bathroom space over bathtubs?

Question:When designing a small bathroom in a one bedroom rental apartment, is it worth it to use limited space for a bathtub or instead aim for a more roomy bathroom with a shower stall?

Answers:
I always take showers and I think most people do the same. I'd go with the shower stall and more bathroom space.

Bathtub any day as long as it has a shower too.
83 % people polled say they have not used tube in years . If small room go for the shower.

Most of the new house I build are now having large showers . People are starting to figure out the big whirlpool tubs are waist $$ they don't use them.

But you are limiting yourself renter wise. According to my wife other than shaving legs which she dose in shower. Her friends don't use tube either .
I would take a large shower stall over a dinky tub any day. Any tub smaller than a roman style is too small for taking a bath. Make a generous shower stall with a tile ledge for the ladies to prop their feet on while shaving.

One thing I just thought of though, if you are planning on renting to people with large dogs, you might want to do the shower/tub combo since most folks wash their dogs in the tub. No pets allowed? Go shower only!
Truth be told, it is in the eye of the beholder. However, in my line of work (real estate), most of the time people prefer the shower with a roomier feel. However, they make bath/shower combinations where you can have the best of both worlds!
I have seen some pretty big shower stalls lately , especially in newer homes. To give it an inviting feeling , which most stalls lack , especially for woman , try to add a ledge big enough to sit on. A corner seat , or bench perhaps. This will not only provide comfort , but also some added storage for bathing stuff , which stalls rarely have. A sleek seamless glass door , wider than a standard door , will also make it appear bigger from the inside and out.
most people prefer showers over baths. It is easier for older people to get into shower. but if the renter has kids, they use tubs.
