How do I remove a a framed picture from the frame without damaging the back board?

Question:I brought a framed picture off of e-bay and when it arrived the galss was broken. I ran out to a cheapie store and bought a already framed picture. I want to remove the picture and use that frame. Sounds easy right? nope. The picture is in there so snugly it is very difficult to remove without damaging the cardboard effectively. I do not want to damage the card board. Any ideas? Already this is costing me more then the e-bay purchase price
