hope it helps,
I am not sure about everything you are asking, but I can tell you that a single roll of wall paper is non existent, even though you will pick a roll up and think you have one in your hand when you read the label, it will say that it is a double roll, hence, twice the cost. usually the price will be $x.xx single roll, so you know it will be double right off the bat.
most rolls are around 21-24 inches wide, 54inches wide would be really hard to handle when hanging.
Borders vary alot in how wide they can be, but are usually about 15ft long.
Make sure you size the wall before hanging the paper, you'll be sorry when time comes to take it down if you dont.
hope I was of some help, good luck.
