Are Sleep Numbers beds as comfy as they say they are? Are they worth the $3,000 plus?

Question:

Answers:
Yes, all SNB's are not 3000 plus. You can actually get a queen set for about $850. I've been sleeping on one for about 3 years and wouldn't sleep on anything else.

I've noticed that most people who don't like them purchase them online or on TV and never know what their Sleep Number is. If you can you should visit a Select Comfort store and try them.

If you have been sleeping on a coil mattress all your life, you wouldn't have a clue what sleeping on air is suppose to feel like. A lot of people just play with the numbers until they find what they are looking for. This normally leads them to what was most comfortable on a coil mattress in the past leaving them miserable.

If you try it, find your SN and leave it for 3 to 5 nights without changing it. This gives your body a chance to get use to sleeping on something different. If it's not what you are looking for change it only 5 and try that for a few days. I bet the people who sent it back didn't do that.

have had mine for ayear i can only say yes yes yes yes .
It depends on the person, like most things. My grandmother got one about a year ago, and she absolutely loves it...says she hasn't had a bad night's sleep since. My wife and I got one shortly after that, and it was just killing our backs. We tried using it for about 3 months, but no setting was helping anything. We called the Select Comfort people to see if we were doing something wrong, but I guess we were just in the percentage that these beds didn't do anything for.

Needless to say, we returned it and got an expensive regular mattress instead (California King Miralux, and it's been fantastic, but was still about $2200). You can try the Select comfort bed for a while and return it if you hate it. You can even extend this time if you need more time to get acclimated to it. Bear this in mind though...you can return it, but can cost you. You can ship it back (which is what we did, because we were moving), or wait a long time for them to come pick it up. Good luck with yours...I hope it works better for you than it did for me.
I have fibromyalgia and our bed is definitely worth the price! It's the only mattress I can sleep on without feeling like I'm lying on a bare table.

That said, the "astronaut" foam also provides good cushioning.
