I am removing wall paper border from a room and some of the paint is coming off, what do I do?

I just finished removing wallpaper from 2 rooms. Phew! Never again.
I used a spray pump full of hot water and fabric softener--8 oz. fabric softener, and rest water. I sprayed, and peeled. No problem.
The paint will come off, but it depends if it's drywall or paint. If it's paint, no problem. You're going to prime and paint the walls, aren't you?
If it's drywall (white paper with cardboard look underneath), then spackle it with joint compound. That's what I did. I applied it, left it on for a day, sanded it. Now, I am priming the walls, and will be ready to paint. I can't wait to get this project over and done with.
Try soaking the border first with warm water, what you are doing is getting right to the layer of paint. Take a big soft sponge and soak in warm water and then saturate the wallpaper border.
Use a garden sprayer or even a spray bottled filled with hot water. Saturate the wall paper and allow to soak in for 5 minutes or so. It should pull right off with no problem.
Be sure to protect anything that will be damaged by water as this is a somewhat messy process.
spray 409 on wallpaper and borders and let sit a few minutes it comes of much easier.
