I like the Hex. It looks like it would be more functional. The cooler feature is nice for outings and hiking (if you hike).
I also like the reflective feature. But, I like it in the brown

The Jansport Alloy looks very classy for 9th grade, the others look for a younger person.

I'm going to say the Hex ...i'd like to get my daughter a messenger type of bag for high school though. I thought that they seemed more age appropriate...
