You could get some wallies. They are re-usable, peelable wallpaper cut-outs. They come as whole murals, large or small figures or patterns.

I bought some Japanese kites shaped like goldfish and put them up on my slanted ceilings. They come in many amazing designs.

If it were me I'd buy some white colored mosquito netting and drape it from the ceiling over your bed area to define that that's (your) area. Bunch it up and gather it draping it down softly on the sides of the bed.It will help break up the sharp angles of the ceiling and walls.Add a fake potted tree with tiny white Christmas lights on it nearby to give the room a romantic enchanted feel at night.Since you guys are sharing a space with baby a little more privacy would make the room feel more intimate. A large white sheet hung from lower on the ceiling near babys crib or bed would give that area a little more privacy too. Buy some ribbons or cheap cream or white colored flowers and ribbons and tie them at the top of the white sheet to decorate it. You could also check out your local thrift store for used dresser( paint it if nessacary) that could be used across the room length wise as a room divider.Add a lamp or a tv and some books for on top of it and that should help visually separate the room into two areas. Hope this helps.
First of all, I would not wear shoes into the bedroom. Then I would buy some bedding used for sleeping on the floor (I'm Korean so I already just sleep like this, but with a baby this is especially nice and convenient) and some cute pillows and teddy bears and other soft things that are suitable for a bedroom and for a baby. Like, I have heart shaped pillows and pillows with pictures of crowns and ballerina shows, etc. in a princess room. So, looking at what you like, pick out some big pillows and that you like and use them for lounging on the floor with the baby.
Hm, I don't know what your room looks like, so i can't say much...
