Would you recommend painting your room black?
Question:just curious...
Answers:
A roommate of mine once bought a lot of black felt fabric and covered his walls, ceiling and floor with it, and blocked out the windows. When you went inside, you would run into the walls because all of your depth perception was gone. It was really weird. It didn't last long though because it started to freak him out.
unless you are claustriphobic, then dont do it
I suppose it would depend on what the room would be used for..are you thinking kitchen? cuz, no.I wouldn't. but for a rec room it might be kinda cool with blacklight and stuff like that.otherwise, it's pretty depressing and not creative.
no never
not if you want to be able to see well enough to read or do anything that requires much light. It's super-hard to make a room that's painted dark well lit.
I can't say as a room painted black would be my taste but if done right it could be quite interesting and fun.
No. You'll need a lot of primer to cover the black if you change your mind.
uhh...it wouldn't be very inviting when you invite people over and they see your room. if you added another color with it, then it wouldn't look so bad. Try a different color, if you're gonna paint your room.
I would not. It will be very costly and labor intensive to repaint/cover later. If you are in an owned home, resale will come to a halt. If in a rental, you will be charged a lot when you leave. Try some dark wall tapestries/coverings.
Only if it is a very large room, and you are a very good decorator. The darker the color, the smaller the room appears. Black usually is used only as an accent color, with a lot of neutrals.
Believe it or not, colors can affect your health. For example, I learned in school that painting an office colors like red and brown will make the employee working there less productive and unable to concentrate. But using a light blue makes them feel more relaxed and able to work better. I wouldn't suggest painting your room black. It may affect you in some way.
I believe it is a matter of personal taste. You do have to consider how many windows you have to let light into the room and how easy or difficult it would be to paint over it (if you own and eventually want to sell it could affect your resale)
Not really, unless you have a special color scheme and decorating theme in mind that covers a lot of the black.
It's a depressing color, absorbs light which is physiologically depressing.
If you have some sort of idea for, say, bright colors for the carpet and furnishings, and plenty of art that the black would highlight, then maybe.
But I personally wouldn't do it. We have so many colors to choose from today--and yet so many people seem afraid to use them in decorating and even in clothing.

No. How about a dark gray instead. Then you can have black accents.
