when i lived in my parents house ( a year ago) I had 6 bathrooms i remember my bathroom i had ducks all over when i was young and when i turned 13 my parents changed it to ocean then when i was 15 it was a girly bathroom and when i turned 17 it was frogs it was like immature and mature at the same time and now that im married and im 18 so i have 2 bathrooms in my house the one thats in my bedroom is happy hour and the one in the hallway is just a normal bathroom thats like blue with shells its cool
Among my favorites include:
-the beach, with seashells, skyblue and sand colors
-celestial (sun, moon, clouds, stars), pastel blue, yellow and green
-a favorite flower, like roses or magnolias
-stripes or polka dots
-americana, red white and blue
-one primary color like red or blue, with white
-there's Harley Davidson stuff, as well as fishing bathroom themes
I would put white wainscotting on the bottom half of the room, with a flat boarder around the top edge ,and and flat board boarder around the top of the room, also white. the top half of the walls a pale to medium salmon pink. Everyone's complexion looks good under pink hues. This will make your guests feel good first thing in the morning. I would buy some bags of seashells from a craft store and alternate hotglueing the different shaped shells onto the borders mid one and top one around the room. Put a medicine cabinet with a white wood frame on the mirror and hotglue the shells to the frame as well. Hotglue a starfish on each top corner of door and window frames. if it has a shower curtain, get one in a seafoam green ,buy some white nylon rope and cut into two foot strands one for each curtain hook. Knot the strand around the hooks and let the strands hang down in front from each hook and then hotglue a seashell on the ends of the first two strands, and starfish on the ends of the second two, repeating.
Paint the sink cabinet and any built in shelves white, and paint the inner panel of the door the same seafoam green color, and stencil a good sized salmon pink star in the center. Hot glue seashells around the frame of the cabinet door. Outline the pink star on the door with a white line to make it pop. Put a small woven cotton area rug on the floor, in white salmon pink and seafoam, and a matching one to hang on the wall and have your towels and washcloths , be white, salmon and seafoam one set of each. Hotglue some sea shells across the front edge of any shelves in the room. All of the seashells and starfishes, will give a texture in the room, that you would pay a lot more to get with tiles. plus it gives you the feeling of having created a look your guests will comment on over and over again.
For my guest bath, I found 3 pictures of old-fashioned, blown up playing cards - king, queen and knight. I stenciled one wall with fleur de lis, and found some regal looking cabinet handles that I fashioned into a towel rod. I added some really nice tapestry ribbon to the hand towels, found a gold glass vase with also a fleur de lis top to it, and found some maroon and gold soap and kleenex dispensers and a black rug. Also aded a couple maroon candles in metal scrollwork cornices
Not overdone, subtle but a hint of whimsey
