Extremely creative decorating ideas?

Question:What are cheap and cute DIY decorating ideas?

Answers:
one of the cool tricks my mom taught me was..buying sheets on clearance/sale and sewing them into coordinating things around the room. She had a light colored comforter...found 2 or 3 coordinating sheets and/or sheet sets on clearance...and sewed them into pillows, shams, curtains, bed ruffles...well you get the idea. It really cut the cost of purchasing those things. Plus a new coat of paint in any room.can transform it. Check out different wall treatments.find paint on sale or clearance.and really do something creative with a couple of colors.

it really depends on what type of decorating ideas u'r looking for. R u looking for the walls? for the bed/curtains? for the floors? for pillows? for cabinets/dressers? for to accomodate things for simple use?

So how mch time do u have? :-))

OK.. bedrm is good... so what r u'r likes? As far as what do u have going on in u'r bedrm? Not jst colors but likes or ideas? Like .. i have no idea u'r age so i'm jst gonna throw this out... like fairies, country, beach, geometric, retro, music, funk. those r something u need to consider.

Look at 1 or 2 or 3 colors that u like then start w/ that. U can paint u'r dressers/desk/bed.. u can go to thrift stores & p/u items for u'r room that u can make pillows out of OR bed covers OR pic frames so that u can pin up photos or posters. U can go to garage sales to find furniture to paint or a colander that u can hang upside down painted for a lamp shade that u found at anthr garagle sale that they were getting rid of that hanging lamp.

U can p/u placemats or table runners & make a valance for u'r windows. Or add it to the middle of u'r bed cover Or put batting in it w/ anthr piece of material & hang over u'r bed as a headboard.

C there is a bunch... so look at what u like as far as design.. decor... then colors... pick out something that really captures u'r intrest & go w/ that. B creative & have fun
You need to give more background on what kinds of things you like or collect or have an interest in--what colors you like--whether you like something cozy and nesty or full of light and space, things like that. What do you use the room/s for? All those things need to be taken ito consideration, and without that information I don't think anyone can give you helpful ideas.

milk crates and boards make great storage shelves/entertainment centers/ coffee tables and end tables, even bench seating in a pinch. Strong cardboard boxes covered with a cloth (such as table cloth) make good accent tables and nightstands. Curtains make a faux window backdrop in lieu of a headboard for a bed. Your imagination is your only limitation. Cut and dried local flowers and grasses, incorporated into cheap homemade vases. Etc.Etc..
Start simple. It's easy to get lost in all the things you can do when decorating. Decide on one or two colors you'd like as primary for scheme. Look at magazines and even newspaper inserts from furniture stores, etc just to get overall ideas. This helped me decide which styles i preferred and those i didn't. And if you don't necessarily have a dead-line, take your time. Buyer's remorse really bites! Decorating a room, office or living space can be an expression of one's own personality and in my opinion, should be fun. It doesn't have to be expensive either. Some of the best ideas and looks originated with people who had little money but lot's of creative juices. By all means, enjoy the process!
Faux painting can enhance the look of any room and does not cost much to do if you learn the technique you are going for.
I have some DYI links on my website if you would like to pursue that creative angle. It can be found at http://www.coloradofauxpainting.com/... then click on the links page.

There are also many stores such as Guiry's and Home Depot that will put on free faux painting demonstrations for beginners.
