A good trick is simply go to a flooring store, and drill them for answers about how they would install it, i.e. glue down or nail down. Most areas of the U.S. have a method that is most suited for the material you are using, and the type of housing. Of course, you will probably get a ten times better floor if you simply hire a professional to do the job. There are plenty of little tricks that are just impossible for you to learn without experience. A floor that will take you a week of your time will take a professional 1 day.
