What color walls would look good with medium grey rugs?
Question:I have recently knocked out a wall seperating my living room and 2nd room to make one large living room. I want to get grey rugs installed. i am getting new furniture (not picked out yet). I want to paint the walls a different color than white. I want it to be a light color. but I want something that will look good for a living room. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Answers:
A wonderful soft fern green or salmon color..depending on your lite, it will look different at all hours so your personal choice is important..you may want your choice of furniture in place as well, as it is easier to change colors than furniture
blues
Salmon pink with a touch of white,
BLACK
Burgandy, certain greens, lighter blues (I don't think you want to make it too dark), even certain yellow shades could be pulled off.
Since you are installing a light color carpet, dark walls would look better. The same is for dark carpet, light walls. My living room is deep cranberry red with gray carpet.
off white or a egg shell white
i would get light blue walls
Well, if it's a large room it can probably handle a darker color, which would make more of an impression with gray carpet. I think a navy blue or a cranberry/burgandy red tone would really be striking. However, if you really want a light tone, I would consider a light, though bright, blue.
Gray is a nuetral color and will go well with anything. You probably should consider other elements in the room.
I think you can use so many different colors with grey. I think a sage green would look really good. My son had a grey carpet in his room and his walls were a light bluish grey which looked nice too.
You could go a charcoal, but that might be too dark.
I like the eggshell idea, maybe with charcoal accents on the trim. The eggshell will go well with what ever furniture you pick out.
Maybe light blue or candyfloss pinks would look nice or some kind of cream or brown
We have grey flooring .We did a technique using two colors. The base coat was a pink hew then a peach color mixed with glaze ragged on top of the first coat.It gives it a leather look, very Tuscan. Our trim is Burgundy.I love it!
