I have two tween girls who share a room and are too big for bunk beds... any suggestions?

Question:Their room is 10 x12. We need to organize their space and make it move livable and not as cluttered.

Answers:
Double bunkbeds! Separate and put each bed about 4-5 ft off the floor with storage or a desk underneath. Add a reading light, and small shelves, for keep sakes etc. Let the girls personalize each area and maybe add curtains for privacy.
.
Idea-buy a big sheet of 1/2in thick, 4ftx8ft Homasote, cut in half, and attach them to the wall. You can add 1inx2in framing to set it off and paint it to look nice. The Homasote makes a great peg board and saves putting holes in the walls.
.
idea- install a wide shelf all around the room 12-16in from the ceiling to display stuffed animals etc.
.
idea- divide the closet in half, either build it yourself or purchase ready made closet organizers at a home store.
.
I can tell you some bad news though, eventually the girls are going to want to be separated. One of them is going to wind up in the basement or the space over the garage, so start planing now!

If there isn't enough space for 2 beds, try a trundle bed. Another idea is a bed that is shaped like a loveseat(I forget what they are called). Have fun!
you could use under bed storage, and give them each a twin bed. put each bed against the opposite wall so there is space between for walking. Give them a bookcase with plastic totes for their things, and label them with who they belong to.
A less childlike version of bunk beds are loft beds. You can put things like a chest of drawers or other things that take up room, under the loft. This way, the girls won't still feel so "connected" and they can have their own space.
Move to Australia, our smallest bedrooms are about 14 X 14 !! You can till buy a nice home here to for 250,000 !
How about a futon?
daybeds, shelves and a desk they can share, light colored walls and sheer curtains, mirrors also help make a room look bigger
Well it all depends on their personality and their style. Plus cost and how long they will be using it. They have these beds that are like bunk beds but underneath instead of a second bed they have a desk and dresser type thing. May take up more space then wanted but its a good fix and they are bound to have fun it. I had one for a year or so. Best time of my life... I could put my tv under my bed without it getting squished. I could even do homework on the same surfsace as my tv. I got a real trip out of that. they can even put pictures and poster under there[[]if allowed that is]}
Go to Ikea or Ikea.com for ideas. You could do two loft style beds (like in a college dorm) thus freeing up all the floor space.
Try daybeds. They are cute, and stylish, and girls love them. Try a bunk bed With a desk under it, instead of a bottom bunk, this way, they will have a place to study, in case there is a computer in there. A reasonable way to go, is to buy decorative bunk beds, this way you don't have two put the two on top of each other. They can be side by side with a nightstand in between the two girls, or even in an L shape with on dresser and mirror and nightstand between them. Think about replacing the nightstand with a armoire for more storage and room for the TV, and bean bag chairs, they can stack when not in use, and also fit under the beds. Get a funky twist of all the colors they like and incorporate that into the scheme, and maybe buy two comforters with the same pattern but different colors, to bring their room together, and keep their styles different.
