How can i get my bedroom to have a beach-y look and feel?

mount sand dollars or starfish to the walls, hang up an old fishermans net, use wicker (dark) furniture, get a mini palm tree fake or real, put it in a ceramin pot and put it in there, spray a ocean scented spray there every day, put a bowl of fake mangoes by the table, put a hula skirt on the lamp, use blue bedsheets, hang up pictures of tropical sunsets and tropical fish, use candles, use bamboo things, like a bamboo screen, make a mobile out of coctail umbrellas, mosaic a lamp with mini shells (like the kind on shell leis) or beach glas, put a jar of sand in your room, like a big glass vase 3/4ths with sand, rest with clear resin to look like water, and before the resin hardens put fake flowers so they look like theyre floating, get fat seabuiscut/sand dollar shells and put xmas lights in the holes in the back ( http://images.scrippsweb.com/hgtv/2005/0... )

empty a couple buckets of sand on your floor
White furniture, particularly wicker and wood. Tropical plants (even if you're not a green thumb, you can get fake ones), thin window coverings that let in a lot of light.
Use some netting, reminiscent of fisherman's nets, and drape around. You might even find an old part of a boat paddle.
Shells are good, and pretty low cost too. You could even have some sand, with the shells laying on them.
Have some beach photo's, and maybe get a large-ish potted palm plant, suitable for indoors growth.
All of these things will be transportable, should you move from your rented accommodation. Good luck!
have a hamic ! lol , when/ if you paint your walls ,paint it all light blue and take clear glue and stick sand to it or sponge it sand colour , get sea shells and put them everywhere , get fake paum trees and put them in the corners of your room . good luck !

Look on the pottery barn website. they have great ideas that you can copy for way less. You can go to a thrift store and buy three old surf boards or use plywood and cut into the shape of surf boards and stand them up and put a piece of wood across the back and screw them together for a headboard. Or lean a surfboard in the corner. Use different shades of blues on your bed. Good Luck.
