Would anyone know approximately what it cost per square to put shingles on a building?
Question:Tearing off 1 layer of old shingles and applying new 30 year shingles. It is not a steep roof and no boards are being replaced. The cost of the shingles does not figure into this. I am just getting an estimate strictly for labor. Taking off old and putting on new. What is the labor cost per square at June 2007 prices?

I have successfully completely remodeled 48 single family homes in South Carolina. In doing so I have used a sub for the roofing. He charges me between $110and $125/sq. for tear off and installing new 30 year arch. shingles. In this price he bought the shingles. I know his price is under going rate but I also offered him the work on all the houses. Get yourself several estimates beforehand.
anywhere between 250.00 and 275.00 we would really have to come out and look at your home. even though you say the roof isn't that steep, the height of the house has to be taken into consideration. Also there are more supplies needed than just the shingles.
