I am cutting a hole in the wall between my kitchen and livingroom. Do I need to paint them the same color?

Question:Right now they are both primed white, so I am open to painting them any color I want. I'm wondering if it will look better if the color flows from one room to the next or can they be different colors?

Answers:
Do different colors. But I would do complimentary colors. A good idea would be to do all earth tones. Maybe a tan in the living room and a pale green in the kitchen. Or a brown/gold color and a terracota color...etc.

Paint them different colors.
nop u can go for diff colours u like its quite in
hey its ur place go n set trends its about wat u like
I think all one color is very boring. You can go to a home improvement store that has a paint computer. Once you pick out the color you want for one room, you can ask the computer to pick out coordinating colors that go well with what you have all ready picked out. If you don't like the computers choices, you can also go a little more sutler in one color or more bold. Just work you way up or down the color palates.
you can do whatever you think looks best, but i'd suggest different colors as long as there is a natural break (where one color meets the next..i.e. a corner). i've been known to paint ONE room different colors - it really mixes things up.
I think it is more interesting if you paint them different colors. It also look like two separate rooms instead of just one.
