You can now buy laminate flooring specifically for bathrooms called 'aqua lok'. It comes in tile patterns aswell as the traditional wood look and is available from all leading DIY stores (lol sound like a walking advert for b&q). We're just about to put it down in ours!!
For a powder room it would be ok, I would not use it in a full bath, you will be replacing it in 6 mths
I have had laminate flooring in my bathroom for 3 years or more - it hasn't budged - swelled - or got water underneath it - just put a little sealant on each joint and it works a treat - use non slip mats as well - or whoooooooosh across the floor you might go
I wouldn't suggest it. Laminate flooring is a floating floor, which means it isn't attached to anything but sits on a mat. This means any water spilled in the bathroom can run to the edge and get under the floor.
I wouldn't use it there. Laminates "float" on the floor - they're not fastened down, but they're free to move. Any water there could cause swelling, dry rot, or promote mold growth.
I'd put down tile instead.
laminated floor in a bathroom will be very slippy and it will also swell with the damp
yes if you lay it right!
no not laminate flooring for the bathroom but you can get lino that looks like laminate flooring and will last .
We've had laminate flooring in the bathroom for 18 month and it's still like new, if you have children that are likely to splash about it may not be a good idea though
SOME IS SPLASH PROOF,but for bathroom,i would use
