Make a couch?


Question:my sister just moved out of our house, meaning that i now have my own room. i am 18 and have some space in my room for a small couch...i don't want to buy one, altough i could...but i would like to make one out of cool materials. could anyone tell me how,,,?

um wood. fluffy stuff... fabric. and a staple gun?
personally i'd do it jsut to have an excuse to have a staple gun.


I made a chair once for an art project... I just use cheap chip board- the key is designing it so that it can hold the proper amount of weight. And then I just made loose pillows for it. It looks really cool but to be honest its not great for sitting on for large amount of times. In my opinion- check eBay and Craig's list for a used futon, it would be cheaper then buying all the supplies. Pillows and foam and fabric are not cheap.
My chair cost about $200 to make.
You should be able to find instructions for building Andirondack furniture and making cushions. That will take a little muscle and some tools, but I think it's great that you have your own space now!
