I want to decorate my room in a romantic style, But I want the era of time to be from the 1500's?
Question:I want a room to be romantic, but from the 1500's time in history with the Prince's and princess, and reflect the clothing, and elegance of that time, since they had the royal balls and all.
If you need some visuals, look up the movie "Ever After" and you'll understand the mood, and look i'm going for.
I'm 21, so please no ideas for kids or teens, and I can't spend a lot of money, since that money is going to my college expenses. Thank you all so much for your help, in advance =)

The one thing you must have is a canopy over your bed :)
might want to go to a bookstore on books about the time, search the internet or rent movies (based in this time frame) and jot down ideas.
Well i suggest alot of off whites and lace. Way back when everything was hand made so it should be cheaper and easier to get the design your looking for. I suggest you make your project fun or else you will get bored and feel like it's more of a job. If you can sew ( dunno if you can ) Lace curtains are always good , no matter if it's a valance or full curtains. Lace curtains are see through so get a pull down blind and accent the bottom of the blind with the same lace that your using for the curtains. If you can sew (to help save money) buy plain white sheets or just off white sheets and sew lace on the bottoms of it to match the room. You can do the same for a bed skirt. Find a nice lamp and just add the same lace. Just a warning . years ago main colours were light and plain. I made my daughters bratz lamp and it's just beautiful. Dont' be afraid to get creative and the best shops are second hand stores. Hope this helps . Good Luck !
I wanted some romantic feel to my bedroom so I bought on (E-Bay) some old lace handkerchiefs. If you have a grandmother or Mom that uses them that is great too. You cam use them to cover throw pillows, or as a valance on your window. The ones that I had that were too small for decorating, I framed and put on my wall. I get quite a few compliments on them.
