Furniture ideas for a tiny apartment?
Question:What are some ways to get the most out of my limited space?
Answers:
Limit the number of furniture pieces to what you strictly need. The furniture you buy should be oversized. It fools the eye into thinking that the space is actually larger than it is.
Find lots of shelving for storage. To keep it uncluttered, get some containers that match. EVERYTHING goes in a container, a drawer, or a cabinet, except what you leave out as part of your decorating scheme. Clutter is the worst enemy to living in a small space!
Try to stay away from the lighter shades of blue and yellow. Most small apartments have terrible natural lighting. The colors will look okay (not great, just okay) in the daytime, but at night it will either look washed out by the electrical lighting, or take on an odd color that is something like the color you really wanted, only different...
Some others have suggested multi-functional furniture. Great idea! Also look for furniture accessories that will help you maximize storage, like bedframes with drawers, or easy chairs with storage in the arms for your remotes.
Last trick for small spaces. Mirrors. You have to be careful not to over do it, but having a large mirror helps to visually double the space. Don't try to do a bunch of little mirrors. They are a nightmare to hang properly. Go for a large mirror, and place it somewhere that reflects the best view of your apartment.
Have fun.

Multi-use furniture (i.e.bed/couch, table/storage) can save space. You can also use a folding bed (Murphy) or table (you can purchase ones that can be installed into the wall). And of course, plasma TV and a Mac mini that uses your TV screen as a Monitor. Less is better, just make sure the little you have serves more than one purpose.
I would use only a love seat not a full size sofa, also no end tables or coffee table.I'd use a small entertainment cabinet for tv,stereo and dvd's,etc...small chairs,
Buy my Nesting Tables! I make furniture and am now finishing 3 sets. One set of Alder with cabriole legs and a drawer for each. One set of Purpleheart and Cedar, and one set of Cherry.Goto Etsy.com to see some of my stuff under Bryansworkshop.
