What is silk finish paint like? Shiny or matt?
Question:I've bought a tub by mistake and I can't open it as it's a plastic one with a seal, and was looking to exchange it tomorrow. But I'd like to start working now! Is silk a very shiny finish?
I tried eggshell before and I know it's shinier than matt but not as shiny as gloss. What is silk like? Shinier than eggshell?

slightly shiny. but not as shiny as gloss. as you said. think matt should go a ceiling as it does not reflect light. silk would be ok for walls.
take it back and get what you really want! silk is horrid!

It's roughly eggshell. Usually with a bit more depth of colour. If its a colour you're using try it, I'll bet you like it. If its white, exchange it for the finish you know. No surprises!

a little shiny not like gloss but with silk you can wipe it afterwards, kids marks etc
i alway use silk paint
yes it has a sheen but also it's practical
as if you can wipe it over and the paint wont come off unlike matt paint
Matt is dull, silk is shiney
