Sofa cushions keep sliding off?
Question:The cushions on my sofa slide off every day. I have to push them back into place. I am annoyed by this. Is there any way to secure them?
Answers:
Try getting putting some velcro on them, it should keep them in place. You don't have to use much, just enough to hold them there.
Buy some of the rug padding like you use under the area rugs cut it to fit under the cushions of the sofa, this should prevent them from slipping.
they make small mats that are used to keep things from sliding. I usually see them in the store where kitchen gadgets are. My wife uses them in the drawers in the kitchen to keep all the stuff from sliding to the back. they are also used in cars to keep thngs from sliding around. I am sure you could put them under the cushions to keep them from sliding off.
Try velcro. Velcro also works great for the backs of picture frames that move too much on the wall (like when a door is slammed).
Velcro rocks.
It comes in strips or squares and can be cut to fit. You can find it at any fabric store or WalMart, etc. Tons of uses. Seriously. It rocks.
you must have gotten our old couch! hope you didnt pay much for it either !
no but honestly, our last couch was horrible. every time you sat down you had to readjust the cushions when you got up. so my wife got upset and sewed a couple of them on. before she could finish i found some strips of velcro and began sewing myself.
I strongly suggest velcro, you can still remove the cushions and wash them.
you can try that rubber matt stuff that you put under rugs to keep them from slipping. Otherwise they do make these matts just for that sole reason, of holding couch cushions in place. You would have to look for it online though I have only seen them in magazines, not in stores. I would try the other stuff first, i will most likely cost less.
