Do you have a Michael's (craft and decorating stores) in your area? They have lots of canisters and stuff that most places don't carry. Right now they have a lot of vintage looking things like you are describing.
Also Bed, Bath and Beyond and Linens and Things are places to look.
If I were you, I'd check eBay; if they don't have it, it probably doesn't exist! ;-)
