Answers:
If you want the room to look bigger, try a light paint colour. Dark colours make a room look smaller. If you want something exciting, try a bright, bold colour. You can also add mirrors to make the room appear larger. Have fun with it!

Mirrors always make a room look bigger. Maybe try painting the room a sky blue (also will help to enlarge the space) and put up some picket/wire fencing like they have around beach fronts along the base of the room.
You could try painting it a very light blue or yellow. Light colors open everything up, and make a room seem bigger. Try not to cover up your windows too much, and let as much light come in as possible. Use light colors throughout (sheets on your bed, rugs... Try putting some exotic pictures up on your wall. Also, some bamboo picture frames would go along nicely. Try to bring plants into your room, as well. Whatever you relate to a beach, that's what you should use.
if you want the room to look bigger- get a smaller bed or push that one against a corner and put it on a platform- low to the ground. It also depends on your age- if you are young, you can paint the bottom tan for sand, turquoise for water and blue and white clouds for the sky. Add an umbrella in the corner with a beach chair. Paint starfish on the sand, with netting in a corner.
If you are older, you may want a more sophisticated look with a boat book case, blue stripped walls and yellow accents and beach decor. You can use a portal mirror on the wall or glue rope around a mirror, and put a cabana around the bed from the ceiling down.
Well start definitly with a fresh paint, even your parents doesnt want to its a good investment and healthier.
A neutral color will be the best, and cool.
What do you really like about the beach? the freshment environment? the exotic? the blue colors and greens turnning blues.
Pick a few things from the beach that you like most, the SEA, ? the PALMS? the smell? the sand? the pearls? :) the shells? the snails? maybe the crabs? some especific plants? and what colors do you like?
Well, then after you decide what do you like the most, you can play with all those peaces, like having some palms in your desk, having some blue or greens maybe oranges pillows with your bed cover, combine with your curtines, you decide.
I cannot decide for you, white always good to remind you a clean day time in the beach, whites with blues turning in greens, and greens turnings blues.
Remenber thata blue and green are in the same line, then you have to pick a complement color to this would be oranges and reds.
Try to make your complement color not same amount as the other colors, complement color would be just to make a realce in your room.
I hope I can help more.
Don't forget the details and do not add too much stuff about the beach then you get tired of it.
To make a final touch go to the candle or oils store to make your room smell fresh! as a beach Good luck
Decorate the walls using "light colored" wall paper. There is a huge selection on the market W/ beaches & palm trees.Do your bed w/ a sand colored spread, top it off w/ throw pillows in yellow blue red &orange colors.Use bambo shades instead of curtains.get a palm tree {real or artificial} if you have room for it.From your ceiling hang a paper sun shine or get creative W/ artificial floweral vines.GOOD LUCK!
