How do I skim coat a ceiling from which I have removed popcorn?

Question:The ceiling is fairly even after removal, with a few dips. These are mostly in the drywall itself. That, and the joints show where joint compound's been added. Is there any straightforward way of evening out the ceiling. I'm not for replastering the entire ceiling, rather a quick, easy way. I've painted the ceiling ultra white in another room after removing popcorn, and the surface irregularities show, but just a little.

Answers:
Normally after removing popcorn you retexture like your walls to hide irregularities. You can use regular joint compound for the opps and seams. Also flat paint no gloss helps to hide

If the irregulatities aren't that noticable, I'd keep it. If not.um. try filling it in with something and then painting over that.
I sincerily hope this helps! :)
