I need some decorating help..?
Question:i am moving in with my friend to help him and me financially. He has an apartment with 1 big bedroom, 1 bathroom, kitchen, small dining area, and a just guessing about 15 feet by15 feet ft living room. now the living room is going to bacisally be my room and still be the living room. i am thinking about getting a futon so during the day a sofa and during the night my bed. anyway we have no type of imagination on how to set the up and make it look good. does anyone have any ideas on what we can do, how to set it up, any pictures or links that can give us some direction would be great!! Thanks alot for your input

Here's one idea:
get a screen to help divide the room and give you some privacy at night... also, getting a futon is a great idea and adding some plastic bins (like from walmart or container store) and putting them under it will make storage for your clothes, shoes, etc
Also, tons of day pillows will help make the area comfortable and you can add lights to brighten it up...adding white christmas lights might also help to add comfort to it.
A rug can help divide the room as well to keep entertainment at one end and your futon at the other. Finally, get multiple seating objects so your "bed" doesn't always have to double as a couch.
As for other decorations, posters of "real art", wall hangings, and mirrors will help brighten up the area (mirrors also make it appear larger).
Finally, if you two plan on being there for a very long time, consider making a lofted bed (yeah a bunk bed type situation) and take advantage of the space "above the floor" and that can also give you more privacy (you can put bookshelves up to that height and "hide the bed" from view.
good luck (check out the websites below for more info)
get something with storage underneath it for your stuff. Throw a lot of pillows on it during the day, or put a curtain around it for privacy.
Set it on the opposite wall of your T.V. or entertainment center. Set an end table beside of it with a lamp, if you have room. If you have enough room, you may want one on each side, but you don't have to do this. Also, set a lot of books, greenery and things on the tables to give it a cozy look. Candles are nice, and also buy you a throw for the futon to add some pizazz to the room. I think you've got a good idea.
