Answers:
keep soaking the carpet with water and lay a towel over it to bring the stain to the top

washing up liquid and a sponge should do it.
keep the paint moist and go rent a dfeep extraction carpet cleaner or borrow a friends Green Machine carpet cleaner and use HOT water!
Dont worry cut the carpet out he will never know
if it's emulsion paint it will come out with water,If it's gloss paint you will need Turps or Thinners to remve it.Put some on a rag of some sort(old clothes) and rub it on stain it will remove it.Have window open though. Good Luck.
keep doing the water & soapy & keep pull it up w/ towels... if u have access to shop vac that would help as well... THEH for the finally finale' use SPOT SHOT... i dump quite a bit of latex paint on my carpet. I couldn't believe it... i kept doing what i said & used SPOT SHOT to get the final paint out. U never would know.
Keep wiping it with water and a sponge and rinsing the sponge in clean water. When it's almost gone you can get some handcleaner like Gojo with lanolin and wipe it on the stain. Let it sit for awhile then wipe it with the sponge again.
Tip1 - never let a child near gloss paint and a brand new carpet.

Tip 2 - put plastic down on new carpet.

Tip 3 - replace all of carpet

Tip4 - keep scrubbing and scraping then buy a very nice colour coordinated rug and leave in situ.

Tip5 - Phone the professional cleaners
mineral spirits your only option now.
Assuming you have managed to keep the area wet, try scrubbing normal carpet cleaner solution +20%ammonia, then rinse out with wet vac.
