Follow these steps for a hassle-free removal:
1. Using a scoring tool (it looks like a small pizza cutter with spikes), run this tool all along and all over your wallpaper border.
2. Using a spray bottle filled with blue windshield washer fluid for your car, spray this all over the border. Wait ten minutes. Spray a second time.
3. Using a scraper, scrape and remove the border. You will find that lots of it will simply peel right off.
I know that some people will tell you to use fabric softener. Don't do it... unles you don't mind having to rinse your walls numerous times. Fabric softener is slimy and will make your walls slimy. It is hard to rinse off. Don't believe me... go put some on your hands and try and rinse it off. it takes forever to get it completely off.
Using blue windshield washing fluid for your car works great and requires no rinsing.
This is how we remove all wallpaper for our clients... and no, if you don't press too hard, the scoring tool won't harm your wall.
spray a solution of vinegar and water onto the wallpaper( until thoroughly wet), and wait for about 10 minutes. Score the wallpaper with a scoring tool or a fork, when wet, and this will allow the paper to come off of your wall easier.
I've heard that fabric softener and water works really well. Just use a sponge and wipe your wall and it should come right off. Good luck
Get a plant spray bottle (99p from B&Q) and fill with soapy water. I use a generous squirt of Fairy Liquid and fill the rest with water. Spray generously onto the paper, leave for about 1-2 minutes and then it should all peel off nicely with a wallpaper scraper. It does get gungey but it's much easier and you can also you a steamer and it will come off nicely
