Wallpaper removal?
Question:while removing the second layer of wallpaper the print is coming off while it seems the backing is sticking to the sheet rock. What is the best way to remove it. I have been using diff but it is a picking process. Little tiny pieces come off at a time.
Answers:
You need to score the walls first there is a tool you can buy that is round and it pokes little holes in the paper so that the dif can penetrate it. If you bought the pre mix it will be a little more difficult to remove than if you would buy the mix it yourself (mixed to a higer concentration than is called for and used with HOT water). You also may need to spray it and let sit for 15 minutes come back spray again and let sit for another 10. If any of the drywall paper is peeled off and you can see brown primer those spots then skim coat them with mud. After the mud dries lightly sand and primer. If you dont intend on removing the glue you can lightly sand the roughness of it down and then primer with oil base to prevent the glue from bleeding through the paint. Good luck:)
hot soapy water and elbow grease
liquid laundry softener and water equal portions in a spray bottle ,score the paper lightly with a fork and soak the area.works real good
First off, you don't want to get your drywall wet. Go to any hardware store, and they will point you towards an isle that contains a product called wallpaper removal spray. It works just like acetate, but it doesn't soak into the drywall... which is good if you ever want to paint instead of paper your walls. Good luck
Find a rental store and rent a wallpaper steamer. It makes the job a lot easier.
Try using vegetable cooking oil.I know it
sounds crazy but it worked for me on removing border paper
