you might check yahoo groups and see if there is a sewing group that exchanges or posts patterns...good luck!
Curtains can be very simple, no patterns needed because it soley depends on the size of your window. Usually to get a nice full drape, the fabric used should be twice what the width of the window is. If you want a more modern look, with straighter lines add half of the width of the window.
Example: If your window is 30 inches wide, cut two panels 32 inches to allow for side seams. The two finished panels together will be 60 inches (double the window width). Then The length depends on the look you are going for. Some people like long curtains that touch the floor, others like them off the floor. On the length, allow for an extra 1 or 2 inches for the bottom and top depending on how you want the hem and top to look.
For how to hang the curtains, there are ENDLESS options. You can use metal gromets and string the curtain on wire, a dowel or curtain rod. Or you can sew fabric loops that match or compliment your curtain fabric. Or you can sew a channel to feed the curtain rod through (like in draw-string pants). For a little boys room, I once saw a baseball bat used as a curtain rod. Good Luck and HAVE FUN!
Here's a website with great instructions, including how to measure your windows and calculate how much fabric you'll need, for several different styles of curtains:
