Depending on what kind of look your going for you could "paste" sheets of tissue paper over the bright green. I've done this on a fairly large accent wall and it looked great! I intentionally used a brighter color than the tissue paper so your "problem" could work out. Just use liquid starch (not spray starch) for your "paste" and then smoothe gently over the sheets with your hand that is wet with the starch once you've placed a few sheets on the wall in random order. This project is truly hands on and you might want to put down an old sheet or vinyl table cloth if you have to be careful of a carpet. Try it, if you don't like the look just wash the paper and starch off the wall with warm soapy water. You wont have much to loose except the money for a package of tissue paper and a bottle of starch. This also works with material so if you find some inexpensive material that works with the green you could cover a wall or two using the starch method. This is great for renters who aren't allowed to paint etc. because when you leave you just pull of the material throw it in the washer and wash the walls with warm water and they're good as new. Good luck! I hope you find a solution to your problem! Oh you could also try glazing the wall if that is in your budget. Check it out at Home Depot or Lowes.
so what is so-on? how bout anthr green or blue? U could sponge over the neon green w/ anthr green or blue. Was that the only color u were gonna paint u'r room? Use u'r 2nd color if chose one if not get one & paint the rest of the room that color... like anthr green or blue then sponge paint or do stripes over u'r neon which would tone it down.
how about a faux finish??
Why don't you faux over it to soften it out with a soft tan-rag it with a cloudy effect.
Using tan on the other walls will help too-
I think I would put a color wash on it. You need a glaze mix and a small can of cream colored paint. You mix the paint and glaze flowing the directions. Then you take a brush that is about 4in wide. Put it in the paint making sure you take most of the paint off by rubbing on the side of your paint tray. Then you just start brushing it on in a random order. Only work in 2 ft sections. Don't try to make any kind of design just brush it on real fast. Step back often to check and see where you need to blend more and for spots you missed. I would test this first in an area that you won't see, like behind a headboard or dresser. You can practice on a piece of cardboard first to get the hang of it. Good luck with whatever you do
