Oh how fun! I was 11 years old when Grease first premiered and I saw it with a bunch of my girlfriends, trust me, we were all obsessed with the movie, and still are!
My first thought was, pink & black (Pink Lady's colors), then, looking at the album cover, it has a green background and Rydell High's colors are red & white. So, choose your color scheme first.
Pink & Black is really girly and you could incorporate a 50's poodle theme into it.
I think Red & White is easier to work with though. You could also incorporate alot of the other Grease memorabilia into it (Broadway, the reality show, Grease 2).
Ebay is the best way to get hard-to-find rare items. You could also print pics from the internet, cut the pictures out and affix them to poster boards for wall art. Search for 45 records there too, that'd look really cool, to have a few 45s pinned up on the wall.
http://www.moviegoods.com has movie posters, color 8x10 stills and more.
go to thrift stores and find some old 45 records, some old albums...and perhaps a beat up leather jacket...and a pair of 'rah-rahs' (the black and white saddle oxford shoes)
hang the records on the wall randomly, throw the jacket across the end of your bed or on a chair, and put the shoes in a visible spot.
you may want to get a flower vase from that time period and use it to old your hair brush and such.
here is a link to some 50's items. this should give you an idea of some popular decorative items from that
era.http://www.retro-housewife.com/1950-home...
hope this helps. :)
That seems a little over the top to me. You can do a 50's look in a more subtle and refined way by using fabrics and little details. Here are some ideas:
A nightstand with a poodle skirt table cloth
Black and white bedding with colorful throw pillows and a pink poodle.
Framed 50's movie posters or records
A sort of photo album that resembles a 50's hollywood autograph scrapbook with pics of your friends on display.
