Any sites for neat storage or decorating for kids rooms?
Question:I am looking for neat ideas to redo my 10 year old daughter and 6 year old son's bedrooms. They are ready for a change. Please no responses on getting contractors or interior designers. We are looking for something that we can do ourselves that is neat and will help with the clutter of everyday kids rooms. Homemade storage or accessories welcome. Thanks a bunch.

I'd look on lillianvernon.com (in the lilly's kids section)
Depending on how long you want to be able to utilize these organizational systems (I'm thinking due to color scheme, etc), I might also suggest more neutral tones (like taupe) in the closet (because who really looks in there anyway?.we just want it to be functional).something like a hanging sweater shelf (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d... labeled with the days of the week would allow children to plan their wardrobe for the week plus allow them to put their special things that they need to take each day.
Pull out storage for underneath the beds would be good for seasonal clothing or shoes.
Something like this (http://www.homedecorators.com/p/five-hoo... (it's a nice shelf with hooks on it) could help organize with the after-school shuffle (backpacks could be hung...library books that need to be returned could be placed in one spot on the rack)
I would also evaluate the necessity of things in the room. If the problem with clutter is toys? Move some downstairs...or get a nice toybox.
If the problem is clothing? Do they have hampers? Or a specific place to put their clothing?
If the problem is paperwork, I would really sit down with them and devise a system for "save or toss"
Things can be organized nicely with just a few piece items (be it a new chifferobe or even a console with wicker baskets).I love linensnthings.com, homedecorators.com, overstock.com.
Good Luck!
If you are handy, you can build a frame to raise your kids' beds. You can raise them a couple feet, or if they don't roll in their sleep, you can raise them 4 feet or more. This will give you plenty of storage space underneath. You may want to go shopping for storage boxes before you decide how high to go. Then, with a curtain around the lower part, you can put a desk, storage, rod to hang clothes, etc. As your child grows tired of the curtain, change it out for their latest fad.
