Candles and Indoor air quality?
Question:Hey there - I was wondering how many of you folks who read this know that burning petro candles was bad for your indoor air quality?
And if you did - do you now burn veg candles? (which scents is you wanna really make my day!)
How much would you pay for votive? or a "yankle candle" kinda jar candle of if it was made of vegetable waxes?
I'm asking because I found this great line for the store I manage, but wow - they seem a little pricey.
If you could take a sec to answer this might really help me out.
Thanks a bunch - Peace

That is a little spendy.. but better than toxic fumes.
All candles do burn oxygen, though, so best to have some ventilation, especially in an energy effieient airtight home.
I spend $5 for 8oz jar candles (soy) I get at the swapmeet. I love the juniper scent.
yikes, seems high but what do i know. i was in the candle business for awhile. I just got me 50 pounds of soy wax, and scents. total about 100 bucks, which would only be 5 containers at 20 a pop, so its like a no brainer. but what do i know, maybe the air quality has gotten to me. as for scents, hot apple pie was a big seller, the bath and body works scents sold well. the seasonal stuff, like pumpkin. differnet strokes for different folks. My big seller was dipping stuffed animales, like bears and anything they wanted dipped, sold well in nursing homes, and when they lost scent, a simple hair drier would bring them back to life.
Try Pier 1 or pier1.com
I used to work there and I really love their scents and they're a bit cheaper than the prices mentioned above.
Votoves: $.79
Jars: $8
Pillars: $6-30
I recommend Mad Love, Island Orchard, Ember, Mango Papaya, and Crisp Bamboo
They smell great, just like yankee candle!
That sounds very pricey. You could check out the website I listed below. They make all natural 100% soy candles and they offer bulk pricing. They are awesome! I too wanted to find something that wouldn't produce all the black soot etc. and I found it in them. They are great!
