How would someone paint the trim on the walls around the floor area if there is carpet?
Question:We cannot remove the trim to paint., also there is quarter round and it seems like it will be hard to paint,
Answers:
My way of getting around this, is buy a cheap plastic dust pan. Place the dust pan against baseboard while pushing carpet down with edge. This will allow you to paint area without getting on carpet. I have also used a piece of cardboard in same method which gives a larger area to paint. Don't put the paint on too thick or it will run. Hope this helps!
just use some sort of maskin tape over and around the edge of the carpet then lay some sort of plastic tarp over the rest
You can get a large paint scraper/trowel, and use it to block the carpet while you paint the baseboard. This works better than masking tape because you can protect the side of the carpet, not just the top.
Home Depot or Hardware stores sell trim guides.
It looks like a long, broader ruler made from plastic (or metal if you want to spend more money and get fancy).
You lay it down to protect the carpet while you paint the trim.
Masking tape doesn't work as well in my experience because it lets some paint dribble through.
To use the trim guide, you must push it in tightly in order to discourage dribbles or leaks, but it has worked fine for me.
get some wide tape and tape it around the carpet, then you can paint around without touching the carpet, and the tape will come off easy as i have tried it myself.if that does not work get some plastic sheet and tape it around the edges you dont need to cover the whole carpet.Hope that is of some haelp..
I have just painted a room. Put wide masking tape on the carpet and tuck it under the molding. Then go to Home Depot and buy painting tape). Put that tape on the wall above the trim. It will work perfect. When dry remove tape.
