Living room colour scheme advice?

Question:Okay, this whole thing is stupid, but I'm gonna ask anyway. I want all the rooms in my house to be brightly coloured and vibrant, so I was going to paint my living room hot pink, but I've decided to do my kitchen that colour so I can't now. I just can't decide how to do my living room? I want a colour that's bright but won't get annoying when I'm trying to relax (like orange or red) but not something cold (like blue or green). It's yellow now, so I can't choose that colour. I also need a carpet to match, but not cream or anything pale like that, because I have a child. I was thinking maybe a mix of different colours, but I'm no good at knowing that stuff and I'm afraid it'll look like a rainbow exploded in there. Iknow it's a stupid query, but I'd really appreciate some advice :)

Thanks

well I would have said green, but...
no I still say green there are so many variations to choose from, use green!

What about a gold color? It's between orange and red but I don't think it will go too good with a pink kitchen unless your living room doesn't flow into your kitchen. Something on the line of a terracotta color. By the way, it's not a stupid question. Everybody, including me, can't be an interior decorator. Good luck and keep your rainbow intact!!
Do what Mr Bean did.
Buy tins of paint.
Open them
Put them together on a table in the room.
Prepare a bomb
Put it among the tins of paint
Prime the bomb
Set the detonator to go off in say 5 minutes.

BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM

Bob's your uncle !
i have just done mine its called old gold i love it but very like yellow i think pink in the kitchen is a great idea green is a good idea

Hi lots of bright, vibrant colours are nice I agree, but you will be spending a lot of time in this room. I would suggest (although it sounds quite boring) to go for a neautril colour, ie cream and add vibrant colours for accessories, cushions, rugs, throws, etc.
you are saying that it is ur living room, for that u can't give dark colors as it effects u while u are sleeping so i prefer light colors but not too dull colors so go for the shades between green and blue if u give other colors they will be dark or light.
I think a taupe color would be nice in the living room. It is a neutral color but does have a little more pizazz than an off white or white. Plus you can accessorize with the bright colors like teal, or orange or whatever color you think blends with the rest of the house.
Paint colors:
1] violet
2] turquoise
3] aqua
4] caramel
5] rust
6] peach
7] grass green
Carpet:
If you like warm colors, get a beige, caramel, or bronze color carpet.
If you like cool colors, get a light to medium gray, or taupe.
Make sure carpet has stain protection - my kids weren't allowed to eat or drink in the carpeted rooms, and I had very few problems - I always have had 'champagne beige' [ very slight yellow cast ] and it goes with all my stuff. Multicolor carpets seldom look as good as solids.
Also, a neutral shade will allow you to use 'electric' shades in rest of the room. If you have a dining room, I would paint it the color of the living room [ say, turquoise and turquoise ] , or some of the LR colors and some of the kitchen colors [ hot pink on dining room wall facing kitchen, and turquoise on other walls ].
Good luck, and have fun!
paint it purple
