depending on what caused it to go hard. Is it old... the u jst need to cover it up or get rid of it. If it's from urnine... u can try pet solutions, but I feel u'r in the same boat.
It really depends but all in all... i think if u can't get rid of it, put something over it til u can.
If its the double sided carpet tape you are talking about the is a products call"Ooops" that removes glue, dried latex paint, bubble gum, and stuff like that.
