How should I decorate my "new" bedroom?
Question:I'm moving downstairs to our basement. I'm 13, and a GIRL. I can only paint one wall, and it probably has to be purple... =[ But any decorating tips? Preferably something not expensive, because i'm on a MAJOR budget.

If you like bright colors like me, I'd go with a bright (but not too much) purple for that one wall, and adding lots of funky lights and pillows that add too the purple (and some accent colors). Dont put too much purple though- you dont want an overload.
Lots of comfy pillows!! A cork board for lots of pictures of the people that are special to you. :) Enjoy your "new" friend!
paint the walls your favorite color and find some matching comforter set that would look nice with it. Also you can get other things that match, such as rugs, lamps, mirrors, etc... go to google and put in "bedroom set"
if you like the color that the room is currently painted, try doing a fun design on the one wall you're allowed to paint. i really like a 'harlequin' type design (diamonds... google 'harlequin paint' or something and you'll find pix and instructions on how to do it. i'm decorating a new bedroom on a budget too, and i'm doing a square pattern. the room's already white, so i'm taping off vertical and horizontal lines (in square shapes, almost like a check pattern) with painting tape and then painting the room teal!
also, use contrasting colours to make stuff pop. if you're painting purple, yellow is a really good colour to use in contrast.

Risa, small details can change the looks of a room. I think if you like purple then paint that one wall purple. As you can afford to do other things like: find a new lamp or paint your existing lamp purple, pink or even dark blue. Another cheap trick for your bed is to buy a flat sheet one size bigger than your bed. Lets say you buy purple and put it over your existing blanket! Cheap fix and it gives you a new color and a new spread. Maybe you have a colored sheer that you could do the same with or hang up on a curtain rod behind your bed, that always looks so pretty and femine.
Posters, cork boards and school certificates look cool on a wall! You don't have to have allot of money to make a cool room just "allot of imagination"...My money is on you honey. Have fun
since you like purple, paint that one wall purple, then add some light (study lamp, etc),pillows, picture frame, table, and anything that you're into. Good luck to your "project" !!
