Stone paint?

Question:Need to paint a stone fireplace which type of paint is suitable?

Answers:
any kind of emulsion would do , but why paint it go to a builders merchant and buy a can of stone ,cement, and concrete cleaner brings stone up like new

Don't use an oil based paint as they are flammable. Most good emulsion paint will do the job. You can get heat proof paints but I have found them no better than acrylic or emulsion. Any paint subjected to extreme heat will crack or blister eventually.
masonary paint for stone, but if it is alreasy sealed and you use a primer then you could use most emulsions.
masonary paint is what you need , theres loads to choose from in most d i y stores
u would probably do better to get a water stain which you could get info on from a diy shop also get some powder water paint from an art shop and experiment with brushes sponges etc to get a marble or textured look ive used diluted cardinal red on brick walls and it looked v authentic also coffee and tea make good stain washes
Emulsion Paint should do the job well. to make it more durable just add some PVA adhesive.
