Any Ideals!?
Question:So we are renting our first home (we are getting ready build one but I dont want to live with my mom anymore so we are renting a house until ours gets built!) but I dont know what to do in the rooms, I made a theme for them all (the livingroom is indians, kitchen is lemons, bathroom is rubber ducks, our room is Chinese, and our three year old sons room is gonna be sports) so I was wondering what is some stuff I could do to decorate it to make it look good!
THANKS AHEAD OF TIME!
**FYI***
I dont want to to judge what I picked because I picked them for specific reasons so just try to help me decorate, dont be a jerk! I dont know why people want to be smart As$eS about stuff, thats suppose to be serious! thanks though

I'll break up my answer into four parts, one for each of the rooms.
Indian: If you're in the western United States, find a local indian reservation and do some shopping there. In particular, native american rugs, blankets, and tapestries spice up a room with this theme. I have a few other suggestions - Find a large dreamcatcher and display it prominantly on one wall. It helps establish the theme well. The other suggestion is to find a bow and arrow and hang them on a wall. Predominantly featured in native american themes are wild animals - large photos or paintings of wolves, elk, or bears would enhance your theme. Another good place to shop (though sometimes expensive) is a renaissance festival - There are usually one or two native american themed stores.
Lemons: This is an interesting theme, and probably the most difficult to work with. You may end up needing to make some of your decorations. I'd recommend shopping at big stores - Target, Home Depot, Michaels. Get anything lemon-related that you can find. Pictures of lemons, a decorative lemonade pitcher, cookware with lemons on it, small wooden models of lemons, and dish towels with lemons and lemon themes. Most stores have paper towels that also have lemon print on them - If you complement this with a yellow roller, it'd look quite nice. Don't go overboard with yellow, though, or you'll lose the theme of lemons to it.
Ducks: I don't know if I'd have two rooms that are so predominantly yellow, but that's your choice. Along with the obvious yellow rubber duckies (those can be found in most big stores, or at Toys-R-Us). I'd complement the yellow with blue or aqua - The two colors go nice together. You may also want to put up some pictures of real ducks, against a sky background.
Chinese: This is the most fun one. Almost every large city has a China Town - Do your shopping there. There's chinese artwork printed on bamboo that looks absolutely lovely in a chinese themed room. Get a couple of folding fans of different sizes, spread them open, and mount them on the wall. You can also get chinese pottery to decorate with, box plants or fake bonsai trees, and chinese -themed furniture, and a turtle chair complements it nicely. One thing that's almost a necessity in chinese decorating is a moon lamp. These are paper lamps that have chinese decoration on them, and sometimes tassels hanging from them. Also good for chinese decorating is a shadow box - This is a multicomponent box that either sits on a table or is hung on a wall, that you can store small chinese-themed objects in, like turtles, dragons, or tigers. Just make sure that you know what's written on your furniture before buying it - The people in the stores can translate it for you.
Sounds like you have a game plan in order. I would maybe think of plants if you are good with them. They can really bring a room to life. Also personal photos on shelves or tables. Area rugs and throw pillows. I would try to keep curtains simple in case you ever want to change any of the rooms. For the bath nice cloth shower curtains are usually more costly but look so much better. There are ways you can do these things without breaking the bank. Do you have a local Pottery Barn or Old time Pottery store? They have great items to add touches to your house that are not too bad priced.
Two and two do not make five.
If it is a house you are renting then you will need the permission of the owner to do any redecorating. Renting is not owning.
Now if you re having a house built then just live in the one you rent as is and put the money into the new house.
You are going to find out that it will take a lot moremoney than you planed on living in the house. Rent is just a start.
Themes are fine , yet they tend to fad quickly and you spend more money changing themes.since you are renting consider...saving for your house...it will be worth it in the long run...keep you main living areas cohesive...your bedrooms have fun with...but save your money...for your house.
