Hello, How about using your local papers to advertised of selling your dining room set?? Ebay is another gd way of selling things and you can keep track as well when you want..just follow instructions or prompts on the sight..it also gives you reading info as well.Best of luck...
EBAY!
eBay!
craigslist too...no money to pay there and you can advertise local pickup only
how much are you selling it for? where do you live? what does it look like? please email me with the 411 thanks
Take some digital pics of the dining room table and chairs, then list it on www.craigslist.com You can "sign up" for free. Do that! Your sign-in name will be your email address, then all you have to remember is your password.
Go to the state of Connecticut and you will see the 5 areas where you can list in CT. Which city or region are you closest to? Click on that area. Click on "Post".
You click on "furniture" and then proceed to describe the table and chairs, type of wood, manufacturer- Ethan Allan etc, color, how many leafs, condition. Don't leave your phone number. Craigslist asks you if you want to show your email address, you can use that or you can be "anonymous". I use my email address cause it is easier for the person to contact you.
Attach 4 pics and then in your description, tell them to email you for more info. Don't give your address until they email you and ask, "where can we come to see it". Then they will come to see it and buy it. Oh, yes, the best part about craigslist is that it is FREE. I have sold beds, bikes, kid bike carrier, telescope, dingy motor and crib. It is easy, safe and free.

My kids put a whole apartment of furniture on craigslist and sold it all in one day. It is FREE, FAST and SAFE.
The quickest and easiest is ebay, as long as you are fairly up on how it works for you.
You can put it in your local paper, but describe it thoroughly and make sure you indicate if your price is firm or not. You will be recieving more calls that will be more intrusive than the ebay method.
You can approach antique or higher end furniture resalers in your area also. They will buy out right or sell it on consignment for you for a percentage.
Your area may also have estate auction houses that can auction it off for you, again for a percentage of the auction price.
The last, and probably most distasteful option is to "yard" or "garage" sale it. Here you usually will have buyers who want something for nothing, and it's likely you won't recieve fair value for it after your efforts.
Your final decision should be determined by how really valuable you feel it is, and also how much or how little work you want to put into it's sale.
Good luck, I hope this helps.
