Tiling a ceiling.?
Question:I am gonna be tiling a shower ceiling, for first time, I have experience-and am very good at-tiling walls & floors, but I have never yet, tiled UPSIDE DOWN-a ceiling, so what is the trick to keeping `em up?, other then hiring 7 little dwarves to hold tiles up until thin set hardens?

dude thats pretty crazy ive never seen that before, the only thing i could think to try is do small sections at a time and hold them up with tape. or you could get some 2x4 that goes up to your ceiling and wedge it between the tile and the floor until it dries but you risk shifting your tiles. it also depends on how big the tiles are you should have said the dimensions of them
tiling i ceiling isnt normal
tape it then when it drys take it off
Tell the truth... we all know you're putting up mirror tiles on your bedroom ceiling. Very shagadelic of you.
ok since there is gravity you can do alot of things.. like use your head and concauct somethng to hold them up... but what i do is i will set like 3 at a time then use some rockboard and put it ontop of a ladder until snug against tile... so i stack multiple ones and make sure the rockboard is long enough to cover all of them... works good
i have tiles on the ceiling in my bedroom but they are special ceiling tiles - not ceramic - they look like some sort of offwhite gypsum - i dont know ---but they'd be TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE for a bathroom!
Whoa. What a job!! Try this for an idea. (I've never done it.) With a fairy rigid type backing material, like asbestos sheeting, cut and predrill the holes for the rafters, or ceiling joists. Apply the tiles with the sheeting on the floor, except for the ones that expose the predrilled holes. Heft it up over the shower after the tiles dry, being careful the sheeting doesn't flex, and secure it in place. Then you can install the dozen or so remaining tiles covering the (countersunk) screws. A rubber corner molding will conceal the edges of the ceiling, and visually 'clean it up'.
No trick, using the right adhesive is the key.
