What can make your home stand out more then others?
Question:I'm selling my home and my agent gave me some tips but I was wanting to see if I can get any good ones from others too. I want to wow them. What can I do to wow them when they see the house or just make them fall in love with the house?
Answers:
one of the easiest and cheapest things you can do is make sure all the lights are turned on inside the house before showing it.
Make sure everything is sparkling clean and straightened, including closets. Bathrooms need to be extra clean. Fresh flowers in vases. Simmer some potpourri so everything smells good and fresh. Turn the stereo on really low to a classical station.
Cut the grass and weedeat all edges and clean up any clutter. Rake out flower beds. Prune dead branches and shape up shrubbery Give all plants a good drink of water. Sweep porch and driveway and then hose down. (A wet driveway always looks cleaner and also removes dust.
Put a pot of bedding plants on the porch.
something to make it have what they refer to as curb appeal.new plants, mulch and paint, stuff like that.google curb appeal or look on this old house web site. you'll have to spend a little money but if you shop in the right places, plants and mulch will be very inexpensive.the work will take some time, but your house will be appealing and you will get your asking price. put a nice gazing ball or some other cool things around.good luck
red mulch is cheap
plants and flowers at the mailbox
build a mini garden
Curb appeal first off. Make sure your lawn is clutter free and cut neatly. Lay down some new mulch around gradens or trees. Clear the lawn of any pet droppings as well. Plant some new flowers.
Clutter-free your home. Stage it, if you will. My parents sold their home themselves and once she "staged" it, it sold within 3 days. By staging, I mean try and make it look like it came out of a magazine. Clean, clean, clean, arrange pillows on sofas, set the dining room table with cloth place mats, cloth napinks, and your nicest dinner ware, clear off your counters of any clutter. Keep the home furnished, but clear the way so potential buyers can picture their own stuff in it.
another trick that has worked for my parents on two homes in the past 2 and a half years as well as my sister: bury a statue of St. Joseph UPSIDE DOWN in your yard. Its a little supersticious, but it seems to work! good luck!

They'll give you lots of tips about preparing your house to sell...
A great doormat at the front door
Some kind of cute wall plaque or grapevine wreath near the front door...don't overdo it though
A brass front door knocker
Freshly painted mailbox, plus some flowers planted underneath
hanging flower baskets
Lush flower beds...annual flats of flowers are SUPER cheap this time of year, so stock up and plant up your flowerbeds
Spritz your area rugs with a nice scent of body spray, nothing too girly though. Citrusy or clean scents are best
New throw pillows for the couches
Make sure it is SPARKLING clean
Remove as much clutter and "stuff" as possible.clean lines
Outside: grounds well manicured and free of debris
(maybe some pansies or whatever planted around the
entry)
Inside: obviously make sure it's neat and clean, add a
bouquet of flowers to the dining table and a fresh (still
warm) loaf of homemade bread sitting on a kitchen
counter.
