Can I put a basement under my house?

Question:I live in a two story home with a three foot crawl space...I have been told I can put a full basement in it...it is a newer home

Answers:
Certainly you can. It will take lots of time and money and you'll have a ton of landscaping to do afterward.

This is a MAJOR renovation and will affect other parts of the house as well -- plumbing, sewer, electrical and ventilation systems will probably all need some rerouting or modifications.

It is going to cost you quite a bit.
First the house must be moved off of its foundation.
You can, but yeah. It's costly. My in-laws foundation to their house washed away in heavy rains. They found a company that came and lifted the house, and put in a full basement.

Good luck!
yes it is done all the time, a little costly but well worth it in my opinion
Yes it is called under pinning.. depends on the size of your house very expensive... lots of man hours involved cause you can't get digging machine's under your house ...
