Is sanding varnished wood dangerous?

Question:I heard it somewhere...dangerous to inhale dust...the wooden table is store-bought, just wanted to soften a bumpy surface

Answers:
Anything you breath in like dust from sanding can be potentially hazardous. If you don't have a paper or cloth face mask, you can tie a bandanna around your face, cowboy style. Also, do it outside so the particles don't end up in your air system or furniture and carpets to just be pushed into the air again!

Of course it is. Wear a good dust mask.
