Looking for a modern color carpet?
Question:my husband and i live in an apartment and want to change our VERY outdated, green office carpet and put something modern in it. all of our furniture in the apartment is light wood and i want to know what would be the best color of carpet to choose that is modern. our couches are medium brown and like i said all the furniture pieces we have a light. the walls are white, but i want to put a more warm tone to them. anyone who has any suggestions on what color carpet i should put, (comtemporary wise), or what color the walls should be i would love it. i am so stuck in a rut right now, i want to do something fresh, sort of bold, but still in the warm color. thank you!!

Well let's see -colors that are hot-golds ,dark brown, maybe a nice cut and loop with a sculpted pattern, or possibly a nice frieze carpet. When you look at carpet you have to look at what color is mixed in (like red or yellow) That gives you your warm colors. Whatever floor covering you pick, work with that and a cushion from the sofa. This will help in picking of the wall paint. You can use a highlight color for one of the walls too. This will make a interesting area to show off art or wall sculpture. Use some sort of lighting that will give it a warm glow to room as well.
We have a beautiful gray carpet throughout our condo (it was put in by the woman who lived there before us). It's not something I would have thought of myself, but it's very neutral (I have red couches in my family room, purple paint in the two guest rooms, etc.) and goes with anything, yet is not as boring as beige.
for a modern look I would get carpet that has a design/ pattern on it , multi toned using warm colours should achieve the look you would like. This is very hotel chic look, and will leave your wall colour options open to several colours if chosen properly.
